Can One Poster Campaign Use Different Artwork in Different Markets?

Yes. Posterize regularly runs poster campaigns with different artwork across markets, and we can also install several designs within the same city. Your street marketing campaign can keep a shared identity while using messages that relate to each place. The task is to understand what each version is meant to do and ensure it reaches the right market or location.

Match the Message to the Market

Different artwork earns its place when it communicates something that should change locally. A store address, event date, or city-specific message may need its own version, while the broader campaign stays recognizable. If the message is the same in every market, identical artwork may be entirely appropriate. You don't need to create variations just because the campaign covers several cities.

We handled a Jameson campaign with creative relating to five different markets. That is the kind of request we handle regularly: the brand has a multi-market campaign, and the creative needs to relate to the cities where it appears. Bring that requirement to us rather than removing useful local differences to simplify execution.

Use Several Designs Within One City

Variation can also happen within a single market. Our NYC work for Wicked placed different character designs side by side, using “GOOD?” and “WICKED?” lines across the posters. The creative changes within the installation while the campaign identity remains clear. That is a different arrangement from assigning one design to New York and another to a second city.

Different Wicked character designs appear together in Posterize’s New York City installation.

Check the Artwork Before It Reaches the Street

We review with production which artwork belongs in each market. The installers then check the material when it arrives to make sure it pertains to their market. The first step sets the intended allocation; the second confirms what the installation team received. Both matter because an otherwise correct poster can still be wrong for its destination.

The Out of Home Advertising Association of America calls the directions assigning specific advertising copy to specific locations “posting instructions.” For a street marketing campaign with several versions, that artwork-to-location relationship needs to be explicit. Tell us whether the files represent different cities, several designs for one city, or both. Our production discussion and installer checks can then address the intended arrangement rather than rely on assumptions about the files.

Coordinate the Campaign Your Creative Requires

Keep the artwork differences that give your campaign a reason to vary and bring us the execution requirements they create. Email sales@posterizemedia.com with the markets, creative versions, and dates you are considering, explaining where each version is intended to appear. Posterize can discuss coordinating production and installation around that plan. Use our contact form to request a conversation before you finalize the artwork.
